Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Baulkham Hill’s High School’s newly updated website.
BHHS has a one-word motto – “persevere”. It means “to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty”. It is evident amongst our students that perseverance is a key quality that has become a protective factor in student’s lives. When “things” get tough, when circumstances are out of our control, when factors occur that are totally unexpected…how can anyone be expected to cope? How does one “persevere”?
These past years have challenged all people in all walks of life. At BHHS, we aim to build the toughness, the grit, and the determination that will be an asset for all students. How do we aim to do this?? - in the broadest sense, across a range of areas, and in a variety of ways.
Our school aligns all we do with the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration of December 2019 in that we encourage and support every student to be the best they can be, no matter what kind of learning challenges they may face. We promote excellence and equity. We nurture confident and creative individuals who are successful lifelong learners, and active and informed members of the community. We ensure that the wellbeing of our students underpins our school culture, for students to connect, succeed and thrive both as students of Baulkham Hills High, and as they move from school into the next stages of their lives.
All staff at BHHS work together to support students in all facets of their education and wellbeing – cognitively, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. We aim high – to develop and build all our students in the broadest sense, to achieve the very best in what they do.
There is a vast range of experiences for students in both our support unit and mainstream. Educational experiences in class align with NSW Department of Education guidelines. Lessons are delivered by dedicated, hard working staff. Students also have many opportunities to be involved in a broad range of other activities – in the sporting area (both at school and up to a representative level), cadets, public speaking and chess. Students can particulate in a variety of extracurricular clubs and activities, including photography, dungeons and dragons, languages, engineering, Leos (volunteering), model UN, psychology, spectrums (LGBGTQ+), to name a few.
Students are at the centre of all we do at Baulkham Hills High School. This website provides information about the key aspects of school life – for students, their families, and the community. Thank you for visiting.
