Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education (SRE) and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these (where available). Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from SRE (sometimes known as Scripture).

At Baulkham Hills High School, SRE is delivered in a number of ways in 2019:

Mainstream students receive SRE in four seminars during the year

  • Term 2 - Tuesday 11 June
    • Periods 5 & 6 – Years 10, 11 & 12
    • Periods 7 & 8 – Years 7, 8 & 9
  • Term 3 – Friday 16 August
    • Periods 3 & 4 – Combined
  • Term 4 – Tuesday 15 October
    • Periods 3 & 4 – Years 10 & 11
    • Periods 5 & 6 – Years 7, 8 & 9
  • Term 4 – Friday 22 November
    • Periods 5 & 6 – Years 7, 8 & 9
    • Periods 7 & 8 – Years 10 & 1

Support Unit students receive SRE for one period every Friday.

  • S1, S3 & S5 – Period 2
  • S2 – Period 3
  • S4 – Period 6

On enrolment parents/carers are given the SRE and SEE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given to a Deputy Principal, in writing.
